The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) is Australia’s national science agency. Its charter is to boost Australia’s potential through excellent science that provides positive economic, environmental and social impacts.
CSIRO has a broad range of commercialisation success stories including Wireless LAN, the technology that underpins WiFi, and polymer bank notes.
The MOFs team at CSIRO has been active since 2007 and has built an impressive portfolio of intellectual property of both patents and know-how. This intellectual property spans MOF formulations, applications and manufacture.
MOFWORX has been established to commercialise specific portions of CSIRO’s MOF intellectual property. Its aim is to develop five killer applications within five years, supported by in-house MOF manufacture.
To facilitate the MOFWORX project, its business plan is being progressed with the aim to be investor-ready later in 2016.
